How does Amity Care ensure quality care?

Providing quality care to clients is paramount to all we do. Amity Care professional nurses and therapists conduct detailed assessments of their client's medical and functional status at admission to the home health service. Amity Care has been nationally ranked in the top 25% of home care agencies in 2006 and 2007 by HomeCare Elite for quality outcomes. In addition, each client receives a satisfaction survey that assists in our ongoing evaluation process to continually improve client satisfaction.

Who pays for home healthcare?

Medicare as well as most private insurance plans provide coverage for home care services. Amity Care staff will verify coverage for the client as well as fill out all necessary forms for insurance billing.

What criteria must be met for Medicare to approve services?

  • The client must be covered by Medicare Part A.
  • Medicare Part B is required for home medical equipment.
  • The skilled care must be medically necessary as determined by the physician.
  • The client must be homebound which is defined by Medicare as normal inability to leave the home which requires a considerable or taxing effort.

How often will Amity Care visit my home?
Amity Care professionals, in conjunction with your family physician, will determine the frequency of visits needed to meet your needs. If you are paying privately, you determine how often Amity Care visits your home.

What if I have a problem at night or on the weekend?

Amity Care has registered nurses on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
